Mar. 10th, 2012 09:48 pmAnother Saturday, another couple boxes/bags packed. I'm starting to feel like even with the progress I'm making that there's BOATLOADS left to do and it's stressing me out. Not what I need right now. I packed a box of toys, bag of pillows, finally put away and boxed up the vday decorations, tagged a bunch of boxes in storage that were done, and put together a big box of some extraneous holiday decorations that didn't have a box home in storage.
Rob's finally giving up on filing and starting to actually pack crap...it's about time. He was at work from around 830am-2pm today so Alex and I hung out around the house. My mom came over for a bit to occupy Alex while I did some packing which was nice. I then headed over to the new house to check the water pressure. They said it was fixed so we went yesterday and it still wasn't...within an hour of us telling them that it was magically fixed. The note from their realtor said that the plumbing just changed the water main pressure hoping to save them money and quickly went back to change the calcified filter when we said it was still a problem. Stupid. At least it's fixed and we have water pressure when you have a faucet on.
So let me know what you think about this. The people buying our house have been very complimentary about my decorating and have mentioned multiple times that they want to move in immediately and have it exactly as it is; wall color, furniture, layout, everything. They've had their realtor ask us multiple times for a list of furniture we'd be willing to sell them and the prices. Oh, and they're already sending packages here when they live about 20 minutes away and their parents live about 10 minutes...how does this make sense? Then today, my realtor tells me that now they're asking for any kind of keepsakes or mementos we have saved from when we bought the house from the builder and any pictures of the lot while the house was being built. WHAT?! The girl wants it to scrapbook. Now I might be wrong, but this truly skeeves me out. This was NOT their house when it was being built. We customized it the way we wanted, we picked out the carpet, we moved things around in the layout while they were building, we treked through the house while it was under construction to take pictures of it. They are buying OUR USED HOUSE...while I realize that this is their new house, it's used. It was new and built when we bought it. Should I give them the picture of Emma standing in her 1/2 built room? These are our memories. The house as they know it exists as it is today...not as it was for us. Apologies for the rant, but this is absolutely ridiculous and I'm not looking forward to selling my house to them. Rob was joking that we'll probably visit our neighbors and the new owners will have our exact same cars in the driveway :-P
