Worked the last two weeks with a team of people all 1-4 levels above me (which is a lot considering I'm only 3 below the single role of practice leader for my group and I was also working with him and his boss) on a presentation for my current client about services and data we could provide them...about $500k-$2 MILLION worth of stuff.  Presentation went well and they're definitely interested...just have to let the higher ups run with it and get the deal sold.  This would look awesome for my promotion potential, but I"m not sure I really want sales targets as part of my yearly goals which is what I'd get if I got another promotion.  I'm not a sales person...I'm a 'I think you could really benefit from this...we do that if you ever want to reach out for some help' and have that be it...casual conversation about stuff I notice that we can honestly help out with.  This presentation turned into a 18 slide powerpoint deck, 5 meetings internally to discuss the 'message' and 'story' behind the slides and a lot of work on my part since once you move up you're not required to you know...actually DO WORK.

Alas...it's over and the large pimple on my lip due to stress can now subside.  Love kids...Alex - "Mama, what on your nose? (meaning my lip)  You have boo-boo?  You fall down?"  ::poke:: ::poke::  Gah!

In other news, my child talks to angels.  I told her during the thunderstorm the other day that baby jesus (she hasn't caught on to God or Jesus growing up yet) and the angels were bowling.  (it's what my mom used to tell me)  Her response went as follows: "No, they're not bowling.  Angels are sad.  I talked to them last night.  They beautiful.  Like princess.  Can you tell them come see me?"  Um...well she got me there...

Later when I went back she told me to tell them to stop bowling and then she started talking about them watching over people and started naming people in our family.  Mind you, we're not religious people.  We used to go to church about once a month, now we're lucky if we go once every few.  I've (unfortuntately) never taught her to pray so I immediately called up my mom interrogating her about teaching Alex to pray which she adamantly denied (I didn't care if she had...just wondered where this was all coming from).  No reasoning found.  Keep in mind...she's only 2 years and 4 months old.

I told Lauren who watches Alex today about what Alex told me and she reiterated to us that "They come see me.  I talk with them.  They want Grandma Grandpa."  OK...so now the angels want my parents...not OK.  I'm not sure what to think about any of this so I'll probably just ignore it, but Rob's sister said that he used to talk about talking to angels all of the time when he was little.  Weird!  At least it's better than her talking to something bad!?
